According to Didier Stevens, Windows 2000 is also vulnerable.

I'll have a look on their forums and see what people are saying about that patch. Smile
update 2nd update Sat Aug 2010
I downloaded the latest patch 2KXP_shell32_Patch_20100806.zip and ran malwarebytes and avast over it and it appears clean.
I used the patch and installed it into my Windows 2000 4 with no discernable ill effects...I have a full drive backup anyway (just in case)

I've tried backporting the XP patch to Windows 2000. I'm a regular poster to the MSFN forums, and I've posted a link there. You're welcome to try it if you wish:
