Here's another video showing the versatility of Sandboxie:
Sometimes malicious files can execute just by hovering the mouse cursor over them or simply by browsing them via windows explorer. This video shows a method of conveniently browsing and opening potentially unsafe newly introduced files with Sandboxie.

I should keep this hovering effect in mind. I've heard of it but now after seeing it in action... Suspect

By the way, what application do you use for recording your videos?

The free version seems to be enough.

Instead of Guko folder use?

Post by sanbox man on 19/8/2016, 11:37

Q1: I'm stuck at 2.36 minutes of the video because I don't have Guko folder.
What should I look for at this step?
Q2: What is the benefit of setting up explorer.exe as per the video? Why
do we need it?

Thanks in advance.

Q1: That folder (directory) could be any other directory you want.  You need to choose (or create) a folder that you're going to use as a "Downloads" folder.  It could be named anything, and placed anywhere (within reason).

Q2: By having a shortcut to a sandboxed explorer.exe (to your "Downloads" folder), you can always view (read) newly introduced files sandboxed, therefore preventing malware that can execute by just hovering your mouse over the file.

The File cannot be found, is the error I got when I clicked Next as per 3.18 min of the video
This is what I inputted:
"C:\Program Files\Sandboxie\Start.exe"\box:DefaultBox" "C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe" \e,"C:\Users\MyPC\Downloads\sbie"

Any idea what when wrong?

Probably because you haven't created the folder yet.  The folder needs to actually exist. In the video, the folder is the account's Desktop, which already exists.

How many folders do I need to create to replicate the video?

How many folders will I need to create in total to replicate the video?
I'm guessing two folders one Goku and the other Desktop? Let's just assume here I named one Goku for simplicity's sake
(I called mine 'sbie'). This Goku folder is sitting in the downloads folder of my desktop. From your most recent reply, I deduced
that I missed a step at 2.39 min of video. The bit were you click the Desktop yellow folder and
reveal the desktop shortcut. How do I replicate that? Should I create a new folder named Desktop
within my Goku and place a shortcut called desktop within that?

This Desktop folder had nothing to do with the actual Desktop per se? Or is it just
a yellow plain ordinary yellow folder named 'Desktop'?

Sorry, can't explain it any more than I already have. If you aren't able to set it up, I'd suggest that it's probably not something you should do anyway.
