Sounds delicious noor. My mouth is watering as I type haha. Basmati rice is so much nicer than "normal" rice too.

And Mango lassi is really nice, although I also like (?)plain lassi.

I'm sure "Little Lady" will be interested in your recipe. Cheers.

Do you make the curry from scratch with your own spices?

Most of the time I use Shan brand curry powder as the base.

My Good Wife, who is Pakistani, has taught me how to make my own curry powder,(or paste) but Shan's is just so easy to grab and go.
For things like garlic/ginger paste,I also tend to buy the ready made.
My favorite brand is Ravi.

For pickle, sometimes I use my Wife's homemade mango pickle,
but for red chili, gungura leaf, and andra tomatio pickle,I use mostly off the shelf. (Ruchi brand)

I am Palestinian from Jordan, and nobody really likes our Arabic food!!
Well maybe humus, falafel and baklava (the Turks and Greeks claim the last!!)

So,when we were married,I kept at her till she taught me "desi" cooking.
Her revenge is that now I have to cook from time to time!!

That's nice! It can be difficult to source those ingredients over here .. but it is certainly getting easier!

I like hummus and falafel myself as well as the salad with couscous in it (sorry can't remember the name .. something Lebanese?). Baklava is nice but I find it too sweet for more than a bite!
